Dolores Del Monte is an American model who was born in Spokane, Washington on March 15, 1932. Dolores' nude photos were purchased by Hugh Hefner and she was chosen Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for the March 1954 issue.

Dolores was of Italian ancestry and was an only child. Del Monte, at an early age held a love for dancing, singing and music. She quickly moved to Hollywood upon graduating from high school in 1950 to follow her dream and pursue an acting career.

While in Hollywood, California, Del Monte made the decision to pose for photographers Zoe Mozert and Bruno Bernard. She was very happy that the work paid well at the time ($50.00 per hour) but was reticent at first to pose in the nude. Bernard had sold some of her more provocative photos to the prominent Baumgarth Calendar Company in Melrose Park, Illinois, who in turn sold them to Hugh Hefner, a young magazine publisher. It wasn't until 1979 that Del Monte officially realized that she had been a Playmate. She found out when her college age son Steve, who was in college in New Jersey, saw his mother's centerfold image while leafing through the 25th anniversary issue of Playboy magazine.

In 1952, Del Monte settled down and married her high school sweetheart, Roy Card. The couple started a household in San Bernardino, California. Dolores had three children, Greg, Steve and Lisa. Dolores' husband had a job in the booming aerospace industry, and his work on the esteemed Titan II missile took the family all over the world.

In 1969, Dolores had returned to Spokane, Washington and got a began working at the Crecent Department Store as a scarf-clip and scarf demonstrator. During the early 1970, Del Monte and Card divorced. In 1974, she was then hired as the official senior tour guide supervisor for the illustrious World's Fair held in Spokane.

Dolores married Al Mack in 1977, her second husband. They moved away from Spokane and to Beaverton, Oregon, where Mack worked as an insurance salesman/broker. Mack died in 1987, and Dolores Del Monte relocated yet again and moved down to Southern California.

Today, Dolores Del Monte spends a significant amount of time participating in Playboy's many events and devotes ample time to fundraising for the charitable 18th Chromosome Registry.
