Marilyn was known for her screen presence and comedic skills and she went on to become one of the most popular movie stars of the 1950s and early 1960s. She was selected as first Centerfold for Playboy Magazine by Hugh Hefner and thus the first Playboy Playmate. Towards the latter stages of her career, Marilyn worked towards serious roles with a good measure of success.
